Description
Cheval Bondieu , named after the Creole stick insect, is a blend of rums. It is the first wood-aged rum created by A1710. Distilled on the “La Belle Aline” still (copper + 7-tray column), it is aged for 18 to 36 months in French and American oak barrels, before being bottled at 51.5% ABV , neither reduced nor filtered. This rum won the Style Winner at the 2021 World Rum Awards.
On the nose, we find a warm cocktail: spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), marmalade, honey and gingerbread , before gourmet notes of vanilla, sugar cane and cocoa . On the palate, cane dominates , flanked by blackcurrant, vanilla, hazelnut, roasted cocoa , with a long and concentrated finish with woody notes and sweet spices .
