Distilled in 1972 from molasses, this rum was aged for 38 years in 220-litre French oak barrels. It was bottled in 2014 by the independent Swiss bottler Rhum House , without reduction, at its natural strength of 54% vol.

This rum comes from the last distillation of the Domaine de Courcelles distillery, founded in the 1930s in Guadeloupe (Grande-Terre) and closed in 1964. The distillery's still was transferred to the Sainte Marthe distillery, which in turn closed in 1972. The barrels were then kept until bottling.

Amber and copper highlights announce a nose of great complexity : smoky caramel, Creole spices, dried fruits, vanilla and mineral notes . On the palate, the balance is striking: black cherry, honey, chocolate, sweet tobacco , with a peppery touch underlined by persistent woody nuances. The finish is long, elegantly smoky and gently cocoa-flavored , a true journey through time and flavors.

A relic of yesteryear, where 38 years of patience pay homage to Guadeloupean heritage.
