Enclosed in a numbered bottle (n° 26007), La Mauny 1979 is an AOC aged agricultural rum distilled in 1979 , then aged for 17 years in tropical oak barrels – before being bottled around 1996 – at 43% , creating an extremely rare piece. This vintage, one of the oldest of the house, combines a deep amber with the patina of time, typical of an exceptional terroir.

On the nose, old wood , dark chocolate , dried banana and spicy nuances (cinnamon, clove) create a complex bouquet. On the palate, the attack is soft, carried by notes of controlled tropicality , toasted bread , espresso and a touch of light mint . The finish, medium length, offers accents of toasted wood , bitter chocolate and smoke , consolidating the refinement of a rare vintage.
